There are no words vast enough to express the deep gratitude I feel for every person in the entertainment industry. You’ve given me—and countless others—a lifetime of joy, comfort, and inspiration. Through every film, television show, play, ballet, concert, musical, symphony, and opera, you have made us laugh, cry, reflect, and dream. You’ve created entire worlds for us to escape into and stories that have helped us understand our own lives a little better.
From the actors who bring characters to life, to the writers who craft the stories, the directors who guide them, the producers who make it possible, and the tireless crews who build, light, record, and perfect every moment—your work is a gift to us all. To the musicians, singers, composers, and performers who breathe life into every note and lyric, your art moves us in ways words cannot express. Even beyond the spotlight, the agents, studios, production companies, and countless behind-the-scenes teams come together in a powerful collaboration to create the art that shapes our lives. I am so deeply thankful to be living in a time where your creative brilliance shines so brightly, amplified by technological advances that make these experiences even more vivid and immersive.
But today, my heart is heavy.
The tragic fires that swept through Los Angeles County this past week have left unimaginable devastation in their wake. Many of you—our beloved artists, creators, and storytellers—have lost so much. Homes reduced to ashes, irreplaceable memories gone: family photos, handwritten scripts, awards, your children’s drawings, love letters tucked away in drawers, and the quiet comforts of everyday life. For many musicians and performers, decades of instruments, sheet music, recordings, and creative works have been lost. These were not just things—they were pieces of your story, chapters of your life that can never be rewritten.
Worse still, some have endured the most profound loss of all—the lives of loved ones taken far too soon. To the families and friends grieving right now, please accept my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. No words can ease this pain, and nothing I say can fill the space left behind.
But I want to offer you something that you have so often given to us through your work: hope.
Though the road ahead may seem impossibly long, I believe in your resilience. The very spirit that drives you to create, to tell stories, to pour your soul into your art—that same spirit will carry you through this darkness. Homes can be rebuilt. New memories will be made. New scripts will be written, new songs composed, and new dreams will come alive.
You have always shown us what it means to rise after a fall, to find light in the shadows, and to persevere against all odds. Now, let us reflect that same message back to you. You will recover. You will create again. And when you do, we will be here—ready to laugh, cry, dance, and dream with you once more.
Please remember that you are not alone. Your fans, your colleagues, and your entire creative community stand beside you with open hearts, ready to support you however we can.
Thank you for every moment of joy, every story that touched our hearts, and every dream you’ve helped us believe in.
I cannot wait to see what you create next. Until then, take care of yourselves and each other.
With endless gratitude and unwavering hope,
